Ford raised quite the fuss a few weeks ago when it announced (not for the first time) that future Ford vehicles would look not unlike the EVOs concept unveiled last fall. This new Kinetic design language does away with the retro look of the past decade of Mustangs in favor of something more fluid and futuristic.
Not everybody is happy about it, though we’re still at least a year away from actually seeing the what next-gen Mustang looks like. Inside Line, not content to wait, commissioned this rendering, carefully combining the EVOs concept with the current Mustang’s muscle.
Using what is already common knowledge among Mustang fans, Inside Line envisioned a smaller, lighter, and more nimble-looking Mustang designed for the global market. The sleek front end flows over the rounded canopy. The rear end gets a fastback look with muscular fender arches and a taillight that goes across the entire backside of the futuristic Mustang.
Considering how focused Ford has been on the retro look for the current Mustang, the EVOs-inspired look is quite refreshing. That isn’t to say what Inside Line penned is what Ford has in mind. But if its close, well, we’d happily embrace this new take on a classic car. How about you? Thumbs up or down for this latest rendering?
