Yokohama Adds New Ultra High Performance Tire To ADVAN Lineup

ADVAN, Yokohama Tire’s global motorsports and high performance brand has announced an addition to its well-regarded line that includes the ADVAN Neova and ADVAN A052. Now available in the U..S is the V- and W-speed rated ADVAN Fleva V701. which comes in 67 sizes with 15- to 20-inch fitments to fit a variety of domestic and imported cars, and offers superb wet and dry braking, crisp handling, and a quiet ride.

“The ADVAN Fleva V701 was developed for customers who are looking to elevate their driving experience,” said Duane Sampson, Yokohama product marketing manager. “As Yokohama’s latest ultra high-performance summer tire, it features a silica-infused compound combined with tread features engineered to provide confidence in both wet and dry conditions while keeping road noise to a minimum.”

Circumferential jagged edge grooves along with other tread design elements improve wet traction.

According to Yokohama, the Fleva V701 incorporates a number of design features that offer specific performance advantages.  For example, tenacious wet braking is achieved through the use of jagged circumferential grooves that resist hydroplaning. In addition, excellent lateral grip during cornering on wet roads is accomplished through the use of drop point grooves which move the water from under the tread.

Two solid outer ribs provide increased tread block stiffness for improved handling.

The quick response and precise handling are delivered by solid outside ribs, offering increased block stiffness in cornering maneuvers, while a quiet ride is ensured via the offset tread pattern that increases stability and reduces pattern noise.

When asked about the type of customer to whom the new ADVAN Fleva V701 would appeal, Yokohama responded that typically the most likely buyers are owners of domestic and imported sports coupes and sedans like the Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Camaro, Subaru WRX and BRZ, VW Golf and dozens of other models. These owners aren’t necessarily looking for a maximum performance tire (and the compromises that entails) but are interested in a responsive, fun-to-drive tire that still offers ride comfort and low noise for the category.
