Evergreen Speedway is a multi-use track in Monroe, WA, about 25 miles north and a little east of Seattle. Like many tracks in the northwest, it runs a variety of events from NASCAR Northwest Tour to sprint cars. However, with a 7,500 person capacity covered grandstand and as much again in bleachers, this is no Mom and Pop operation.
Last month, the track hosted Round 5 of the Formula Drift series, and from the video below, it looks like they packed the stands to capacity. The facility embraced the Drift phenomenon six years ago, establishing its own series, which ran an event in conjunction with the Formula Drift series.
Of course, the Formula Drift event drew top drivers from across the country and the spectators were treated to some pretty wild competition. Vaughn Gittin Jr. was there with his Monster Energy-Falken Tire sponsored Ford Mustang and was a crowd favorite. You can follow along with his progress at the event, which gave him a Top 8 finish.
On the results, Gittin Jr. commented, “I am pumped on how my team and I performed. We were all on our game and that’s all I can ask for. Seattle is always an amazing event, and the crowd and my fans more than made up for my results.”
