Video: The Ford Mustang Gets Its Gamer On

In just a few short weeks, the Ford Mustang will return to the big screen in a big way with Breaking Bad star Aaron Paul behind the wheel. This highly-customized Mustang is arguably the star of the movie if you ask us, and in conjunction with the Need for Speed gaming franchise, Ford helped bring the Mustang to gamers at America’s largest gaming convention, E3.

The latest video from the Mustang Countdown goes behind the scenes at E3, as well as interviews the director of the need Need For Speed movie, Scott Waugh. But will this movie based on a street racing video game really be as “accurate and authentic” as the director claims?

We’d say probably not, because honestly, who is looking for an accurate and honest look at “real” street racing? We can tell you right now that most “real” street races don’t involve half-million-dollar Italian exotics speeding across the country in an illegal contest of acceleration at speeds in excess of 200 MPH.

It’s also hard to imagine the word “authentic” used in conjunction with the Need For Speed series, which has built an entire business case on being outlandish and over-the-top. That said, the NFS crew has gone to great lengths in recent years to recreate an authentic feel to their games, right down to the proper exhaust notes. This will also be the first chance for viewers to see the all-new 2015 Mustang in action, so regardless, we’re probably going to head to theaters on March 14th, when the Need For Speed movie comes to theaters.
