If you have watched any of the Hoonigan videos you know they are famous for their crazy burnouts. Their Donut Garage has seen more than its share of super-cool burnouts over the past year so. However, when Formula Drift driver Justin Pawlak showed up with two of his Ford Mustangs, you know something epic would certainly follow!
Justin brought out his 2017 Roush RS3 Phase 2 Mustang along with his 2006 Project SidewayS197 Mustang, a former SEMA which we covered right here, to teach the boys at Hoonigan how to do a proper burnout.
The 2006 GT features a wide variety of modifications from exterior to interior including some heavy suspension mods and most notably, a 5.0 liter Coyote engine topped by a Roush supercharger cranking out 575 horsepower. The 2017 RS3 Roush is putting out 727 horsepower at the rear wheels in Phase 2 form. That’s a bit shy of the 1,000 horsepower that Justin’s Roush Mustang drift car puts out, but still more than enough to shred the rear tires!
As good a driver as he is, Jason Pawlak is not good enough to drive both cars at once, so Hert Eugene Jr., Senior Content Director for Hoonigan, got the nod to drive Project SidewayS197 against Justin and his factory-fresh Roush hot rod. While Hert has plenty of seat time behind some cool rides ,and can certainly lay down a sweet burnout inside the Doughnut Garage, no one could predict or prepare to attempt the move Justin Pawlak had in store for his burnout!
For those not familiar with the Donut Garage, it’s basically the back lot to a metal building in an industrial park. It has a loading dock and a parking lot with a ramp in between. People often do burnouts on the loading dock, so the walls have been hit, scraped, and abused from burnouts gone wide down below. But never before has anyone been so crazy as to try a burnout from the loading dock, down the ramp and onto the pavement!
No one that is until Justin Pawlak showed up with his Roush Mustang. Even though he did not make it all the way down, we still have to rate this as the most epic burnout we have ever seen at the Donut Garage!
