When the sixth generation Mustang debuted back in early 2014, a lot of us were raving about the cool new features and technology integrated into the S550 platform. That all-new Mustang brought modern components like an independent rear suspension, and a second generation Coyote engine.
Heck, even the dreadful 6-speed manual Getrag MT-82 transmission received some much needed updates from the previous S197 version. That brings us full circle to the 2018 Mustang, which of course is an updated S550 model to come. Ford recently released a micro-teaser showcasing one of the many new features to come on the 2018 Mustang.
“What does the average resting heart rate of an adult Mustang horse have in common with the new 2018 Ford Mustang? They share the same heartbeat.” Ford said in its press release. The new pulsing start button is a way of amping up enthusiasts to get out and drive their new Mustang; and will pulse glowing red at 30 beats per minute when the door is unlocked, and until the engine is started.
The new unique start button is meant to mirror the average resting heart rate of a real pony. It’s a neat little feature that certainly makes the facelift S550 models that much more unique to experience, if you ask us. As Ford entailed, it’s one of many new updates to come on the all-new 2018 Mustang, which they say will be available as soon as this fall. Until then, keep an eye out here on FordNXT for the latest Mustang updates.
