Need for Speed is one of the oldest video game racing franchises around. Back in 1994 the first Need for Speed game revolutionized racing simulations by offering realistic (for the time) physics, car sounds, and most importantly, police chases. Now that video games rival the movie industry in size and scope, the commercials for new games have gotten decidedly more…entertaining.
The trailer for the new Need For Speed game, Need For Speed: Most Wanted just dropped today. And what starts as a high-powered showdown between muscle car-driving police and a group of classic and exotic sports car takes a hilarious turn when the Focus ST shows up.
Like prior Need For Speed games, Most Wanted features police chase action at its core. The series has evolved with the cars, and Most Wanted will make most of the cars available for drivers right at the beginning. This new game is an open-world model, allowing you to drive wherever you want from the get go. The game drops on October 30th.
Before then though there is this commercial, which features the aforementioned showdown between European exotics, a Ford Raptor (which kind of sounds like a diesel?) a classic Shelby Cobra staring down a bunch of police vehicles. And then comes along the Focus ST, flipping off the cops in the middle of a 360 degree turn.
Whoever approved this video at Ford marketing…we’d like to shake their hand. Brilliant.
