Video: Hennessey Performance Dynos The 2015 HPE700 Mustang

A few months back, we brought you news that Hennessey Performance was the latest to jump on the 2015 Mustang tuner train. They announced their HPE700 Mustang, a limited edition model, retailing at a starting price of $59,500. It was stated in Hennessey’s early release that the cars would put out 717 hp and 632 ft-lbs of torque (at the engine flyhweel).

We had yet to see one of these cars on the dyno, until this week, when Hennessey Performance released a video of a HPE700 spinning the rollers. The results seem to be right on target, with horsepower coming in at 663 hp and 524 ft-lbs to the rear wheels, with the stock Mustang GT exhaust system. That’s modified ’13-’14 GT500 territory, for about the same cost in a 2015 wrapper. Looks like they’re right on target, if not a little over on their initial power claims.

Hennessey says the HPE700 will do 0-60 in 3.6 and the quarter mile in 11.2 seconds. Power comes from a supercharged Coyote engine. The 2.9 liter blower is accompanied by a cold air intake, and a Hennessey calibration.

There’s plenty of carbon and aero work to this car as well. Hennessey also offers a wheel and tire upgrade, as well as an exhaust system upgrade. We’d wager the exhaust system makes quite a difference on this car, given what we’ve seen out of stock naturally aspirated Mustangs already.

These cares are serialized, and limited to just 500 units for production, so if you want one, you should probably get your order in now. With no GT500 for 2015 or apparently 2016, this might be one of the best bargains out there for a turnkey, limited edition, super Stang.
