The Ford Mustang is a universally-known language, with clubs representing the Blue Oval pony car found on six out of the seven continents (sorry Antarctica). It’s one of, if not the best-known car in all the world, and people have worked their entire lives just to have one they can call their own. This can make for some very interesting international car club gatherings, especially in closely-clustered Europe.
As part of the Mustang’s 50th anniversary countdown, Ford released this look at some of the people that make up the international Mustang community. It’s quite a wide array of people drawn to this pony car.
The video interviews a variety of Mustang fans from all across Europe who gathered in Germany for a Mustang meet, with every kind of accent and Mustang working its way into the video. And why not? It is Europe’s most-wanted classic car, and Ford is banking on selling the Mustang across the Old World come next year. These Mustang fans have something exciting to look forward to very soon.
As for the meet itself, just about every kind of Mustang is represented, from the earliest classics to the latest Shelby GT500. The Mustang represents some of the best American ideas, freedom, open roads, and the ability to choose what you want. Owners are quick to comment on just how different the Mustang is from anything else on the road in Europe, drawing attention everywhere it goes. This is yet another example of how far-reaching the Ford Mustang culture really is, bringing together people from different countries and continents over their love for a car that has captivated us all for nearly 50 years. Here’s to the next 50 years!
