The 2003 to 2004 Mustang Cobra is a seriously underrated car in our humble opinion, one capable of making incredible horsepower with some rather minor modifications. What’s more, if you upgrade from the supercharger to twin-turbos, something that has gained increasing popularity in recent years, well the sky’s the limit when it comes to making power.
1320Video brings us this epic video of one of the most powerful “Terminator” Cobras on the planet, a 1,300 hp twin-turbo monster that has been stalking the streets of Texas since 2006.
This incredible Cobra boasts two Turbonetics 61mm turbochargers sending up to 1,337 horsepower to the rear wheels on race gas and at 30 psi. In this video the Cobra has been detuned to run 93 octane and only 14 psi, but it still makes around 750 hp at the wheels, more than enough power to handle the comparatively-weaksauce Corvette ZR1.
Pushing power through a six-speed manual transmission that has been beefed-up to handle the extra horsepower. Even detuned this Cobra makes more power than 99% of the cars on the road, including the venerable Corvette. It’s a serious car for a serious Mustang fan, and we haven’t even touched on the roll cage or suspension bits. But after watching this Cobra spin its tires at 100 mph, we feel like we don’t really have to say anything else. Fair warning, this is a street racing video, and we’d categorize the language as NSFW, but you’ve got to hear those turbos spin up, and that Cobra hiss.
