Vaughn Gittin Jr. Burns Through 360,000 Miles Of Tires

Craig Jackson and his team wanted to give me, and one of our brand-new, 2017 Ford Mustang RTRs unrestricted access to get crazy…—Vaughn Gittin Jr.

To promote the upcoming Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale, the auction company invited the Professional Fun Haver, Vaughn Gittin Jr., to drift his 2017 Ford Mustang RTR around the WestWorld of Scottsdale site that will host the event from January 14-22, 2017.

“When the very fun crew at Pennzoil called me to tell me that Craig Jackson and his team wanted to give me, and one of our brand-new, 2017 Ford Mustang RTRs unrestricted access to get crazy at the Barrett-Jackson Auction Site in Scottsdale, it did not take much of an arm twisting for me to say yes,” Vaughn explained.

Vaughn Gittin Jr. was invited to kill some tires at WestWorld of Scottsdale to help promote the upcoming Barrett-Jackson auction. In the process he burned up 360,000 miles of Nitto tires!

Obviously Vaughn is always happy to turn a tire, but with such a huge canvas to work with he laid down a huge piece of ‘performance art’ painted with 360,000 miles worth of Nitto Tire rubber. As you can see in the video, his Pennzoil Synthetics-backed, 450-horsepwer Mustang RTR was more than up to the task, and it was able to move around some pretty special obstacles.

Vaughn Gittin Jr.’s 2017 Mustang RTRs are available in Spec 1 and Spec 2 configurations. The Spec 1 is fitted with RTR lowering springs, RTR 19-inch wheels, Nitto NT555G2 tires and various RTR appearance enhancements. Upgrading to the Spec 2 adds 20-inch RTR Tech 7 wheels The upgraded Mustang RTR Spec 2 package gives customers a Tactical Performance Suspension, including a Tactical Performance Suspension made up of adjustable dampers, lowering springs, and adjustable sway bars. It is rounded out by an RTR axle-back exhaust. (The Veyron is sold separately.)

• RTR Axle-Back Exhaust

• RTR Tech 7 20-inch Wheels

• Nitto NT555G2 Tires

“Long story short, I made the massive site—including the one million square feet of tent space they have—my personal playground for a day,” he added. “It was incredibly fun, and as if some of the things that I pulled off were not sketchy enough, Craig decided to bring his Bugatti Veyron in for me to use as an obstacle just in front of where the auction block was being built! I talked Craig into joining me and sitting shotgun for that portion; I saw him wanting to grab the wheel as we got closer and closer to it!”

If you make it out to the auction and you see tire tracks on the ground, now you know there’s a pretty cool reason for them to be there.
