TVS-Boosted Shelby GT500 Spins The Dyno With 662 RWHP

Shelby GT500s love upgrades as evidenced by the powerful 2007 Mustang Shelby GT500 that Brenspeed upgraded using a TVS 2300 supercharger from the 2013 Shelby GT500 and a supporting cast of bolt-ons. A stock 2007 Mustang GT is nothing to scoff at, thanks to its venerable powerhouse 5.4-liter engine, but when you swap out the factory supercharger perched atop its intake for a larger more efficient unit to help it breathe, you really get some seriously impressive numbers out of it.

This kit, which BrenSpeed sells here, is compatible with any 2007-2012 Mustang Shelby GT500 5.4-liter engine. The company’s website explains that “the 2.3-liter TVS 2300 blower has a 33-percent larger inlet and a 68mm pulley sporting around 14 psi of boost!!” According to the numbers posted on its website, this $4,145.94 Brenspeed kit will net you between 700 and 750 flywheel horsepower on your 5.4-liter-powered Mustang.

This car put down 662 horsepower and 612 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels on Brenspeed’s Dynojet chassis dyno. The actual horsepower gains to the flywheel are more than that, but the ones that really count on the street are what you get where the rubber meets the road. Those numbers are nothing short of impressive, and on 93-octane pump gas no less. If you’re looking to get some serious power out of your 2007-2012 Shelby GT500, this package definitely delivers.
