If you are die-hard Blue Oval fans like we are, then you know that there are few moments in car enthusiast history that captured the spirit and excitement of driving a Mustang quite like the incredible car chase in the movie Bullitt. And this weekend, while many of us were reliving those memories watching one of the original Bullitt Mustangs make the historic Hillclimb at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, new 2019 Bullitt Mustang owners were receiving the all-important phone calls from their local dealerships that their movie-inspired Mustangs arrived on the dealer lot.

One of the new features 2019 Bullitt Mustang owners have been anxious to try out is the manual transmission’s rev-matching technology.

Yes, the first 2019 Mustang Bullitts are finally hitting the streets, and early adopters are saying that this car delivers on so many levels. Lebanon Ford was one of the first dealerships in the country to display the iconic Highland Green paint scheme on the showroom floor, and the dealers social media team was quick to grab the video cameras to document the historic delivery (in the video above), as were other owners that received their new Bullitts…

While many of us already caught a glimpse of the car at events like Fabulous Fords Forever and Friends of Steve McQueen Car Show earlier this year, watching the reaction on the faces of the first delivered vehicles is a special treat in itself. We had a similar reaction when the first EcoBoost Ford GTs made their way home to their rightful owners as well.

There is just something about owning a driving a limited-production run car that puts a smile on our faces. And what makes the Bullitt so unique is that Ford engineered this car as a driver’s car and a vehicle that could (and should!) be driven on the regular.
