Ford GT Mk II Debuts Wearing Gorgeous Forgeline Monoblock Wheels

There are some automobiles that make you sit stupefied and slobber. With incredible lines, an oft-derided but still intimidating bark, and an understated but exciting livery, Multimatic Motorsports’ Ford GT Mk II has plenty to gawp over. To make matters even better, it has the superathletic stance any supercar worth its salt should have—largely due to  it wearing some of Forgeline’s most gorgeous wheels.

This stunning Skunkworks project is shod in Forgeline’s GTMKII one-piece forged monoblock wheels, measuring 19×11.5 & 19×13.0 and finished in satin gunmetal. This no-nonsense set of wheels helps set the tone for the rest of what is a focused and frightening car. Underneath those big wheels lurk massive Brembo ceramic calipers, behind which lie Multimatic DSSV dampers. It all points towards the dedicated nature of the Ford GT MkII: a track-only supercar meant to decimate baddies in the same department, like the Brabham BT62.

Four time the downforce of the standard Ford GT make the Mk II a force to be reckoned with.

Made for Motorsport

Follow those purposeful flares and quickly we’re confronted with an angular body revised to generate 400% more downforce than the standard Ford GT. With face-warping amounts of aero grip, putting the 3.5-liter Ecoboost’s 700 horsepower down cleanly ought to be within the reach of most talented track rats. Well-heeled track rats, of course.

Quick-moving, well-heeled track rats is probably a better descriptor, since this car is a small-volume item. The Ford GT Mk II starts at $1.2 million and only 45 units will be built, so hopefuls with deep pockets need to act soon. If the timing works, they’ll get their hands on a limited-edition, track-only GT that represents the next stage in Ford GT performance.  A car which manifests the true racetrack potential of a Ford GT that is not hindered by limitations imposed by series rules, sanctioning bodies, or homologation requirements, is something to admire—especially when its shoes are so pretty.

Simple, purposeful, sleek, and somehow understated.
