This week, Flaming River introduced its newest offering for the 1960-1965 Ford Comet and Falcon: a complete power rack and pinion conversion system! Flaming River says that the kit will allow Comet and Falcon owners access to improved steering and handling performance, with no cutting, drilling, or welding required during installation.

Flaming River, located in Berea, Ohio, has been building steering components, accessories, and electrical components since 1987. Its product line is extensive, with the Ford line including Mustangs, Thunderbirds, Galaxies, Broncos, and more.

The kit utilizes the vehicle’s factory mounting holes and is simply bolted into the stock location using basic hand tools, making installation super easy!

This particular kit is available with a paintable Floor Shift Tilt Steering Column ($2,040 retail), a paintable Column Shift Tilt Steering Column ($2,190 retail), or no column ($1,890 retail). A brand-new Billet-Power Rack and Pinion is included, and provides over six inches of travel and a full turning radius from lock-to-lock and stop-to-stop.

Also included are the Rack and Pinion Cradle System, all mounting hardware required for installation, a wiring connector, universal joints and shafts, a power steering pump and pulley, and a polished aluminum mounting reservoir.

For added peace of mind, all Flaming River Power Rack and Pinions are made right here in the USA. Each one is fluid and pressure tested before leaving the Flaming River facility and comes with lifetime serviceability.
