Fatman Fabrications Creates Bolt-In IFS System for 1965-70 Mustangs

Recently, Fatman Fabrications announced a new addition to its lineup: Bolt-In Independent Front Suspension System for 1965-1970 Ford Mustangs.

While so many choose to drop bigger cubic inch engines into their 1965-1970 Mustangs, the stock unibody structure has shock towers that jut out into the engine bay, making installation difficult. Installation is made even more difficult thanks to the beloved Coyote engine’s valve cover width. Fatman Fabrications in Mint Hill, North Carolina, noted the problem and decided to do something about it.

Following years of research and brainstorming, Fatman Fabrications has designed a completely bolt-in Independent Front Suspension kit to solve the fitment and installation issue. A quarter-inch steel plate is bolted to the original subrails from the radiator back to the floorboards, providing reinforcement and properly bracing the unibody structure.

While front diagonal braces and a full suspension crossmember finish out the fully braced assembly, that isn’t all the package includes. Also included in the system are filler plates for the removed shock towers, tubular control arms, Ridetech premium coilovers, disc brakes, and power steering, and an anti-sway bar with bolt-on engine mounts for the Coyote.  Are you installing a Windsor or FE engine (or even the dreaded LS engine)? Engine mounts are available for those applications too! Control arm finishes and brake upgrade options are also available for extra customization.

This system has all you need to bring new technology to your classic ride! In addition, Fatman Fabrications’ tech experts are on-hand to answer any questions you might have about your unique build.
