We continue to see quite a large trend in restoring and restomodding Fox-body Mustangs. While the reasons for doing so are many, the platform has increasingly become a favorite of customizers over the last few years.

Nine months ago, Eastwood, the long standing seller of restoration tools, supplies, equipment, and more began digging into a 1989 Mustang as their Project Resolution. It would seem that Eastwood found one of the roughest cars that they possibly could and were determined to breathe new life into the old Ford.

After completely disassembling the car, the team at Eastwood discovered accident damage, rust, and other typical problems on any car that’s nearly 25 years old. They worked with CJ Pony Parts on this project for a few new pieces, but mostly restored the car back to nearly showroom original. It even rides on the old 10-hole Fox-body wheels, something almost every enthusiast has sent to the scrapper since the cars were new.

Nine grueling months, and a lot of work later, the Fox-body roasted the tires in the Eastwood parking lot, a tribute to all those who had a hand in reviving the old 5.0. The car has gone from a horrendous shade of red, to a beautiful blue pearl. The interior has been restored and updated as well receiving a black components. Old crash damage has been repaired, and rust has been removed or neutralized throughout the car.

We have to say we’re impressed with what Eastwood was able to achieve with this project, and watching the video makes us want to get back in the shop and swing a few wrenches on our own Fox-body project cars.
