DW400 Drop-in Fuel Pump Fitments Available for F-150 and Raptor

With the ever-increasing popularity of trucks and the power outputs of today’s aftermarket engines, DeatschWerks created the DW400 in-tank pump for the for 2009-2014 Ford F-150 as well as 2010-14 Ford Raptor.

According to DW, the DW400 is the highest flowing in-tank fuel pump in its current product lineup.  The pump utilizes a turbine impeller and computer balanced armature to ensure quiet operation and compatibility with pulse width modulation pump controllers. The carbon commutators and fully encapsulated armature allow for compatibility with E85 and pump gas, in addition to race fuels.

The DW400 is a result of a collaboration with Bosch Automotive Aftermarket, who developed a 400+ LPH pump small enough for in-tank use. As a result, the DW400 is manufactured by Bosch in Germany and sent to DeatschWerks in Oklahoma City for distribution.

A universal fitment kit, which includes fuel hose, clamps, electrical harness, and filter allows the DW400 to provide support for applications up to 1,000 hp on gas, or 750 hp on E85. It comes rated to 120psi total fuel pressure and delivers an in-tank flow of 415LPH at 40psi or 500LPH open flow.

According to DW, some modifications to the fuel pump will be necessary to install it as the DW400 is a 46mm diameter pump, slightly larger than the standard size pump that comes in most applications.

It is important to note that a 400+ LPH pump draws substantial current (16-20 amps at normal operating pressures). DW recommends verifying the chassis wiring can deliver the necessary current. If it is not, DW offers a hardwire kit which can serve as an inexpensive insurance policy.
