If you are looking for a complete frame solution for your classic, we might have found the perfect package for your ride. From Chris Alston’s Chassisworks, comes the next step in the evolution of vehicle building – the Custom-Fit Frame program.
According to the Chassisworks website, you can avoid the hassle of extensive floor repairs on your custom build with Chassisworks’ new custom-fit frame and prefab floor system. We’re told this is a complete chassis solution for most cars and trucks. The Chassisworks custom-fit frame and simple trim-to-fit floor and tub system welds directly to the vehicle, creating a cohesive structure and saves valuable time and expense that is normally wasted repairing and mini-tubbing the stock floor. The frame comes in two versions to suit almost any configuration.
First, is the Perimeter-X. This frame incorporates both a perimeter and center-X structure. The center span provides significant increase in chassis stiffness and power-handling capacity for extreme Pro Touring, G-machine, and street car or truck applications. It features seriously stout 4×2-inch, .120-inch thick-wall, boxed-tubing frame. The front suspension consists of Chassisworks’ g-Machine double-A-arm and rack-and-pinion system. The rear suspension choices include a canted four-link, torque arm, IRS, parallel four-link, or ladder bar systems.
The Straight-Rail Full Frame is also made of 4×2-inch, .120-inch thick-wall, boxed-tubing. The materials along make both of these frame styles the ultimate in stability inducing foundation. The front suspension is also Chassisworks’ g-Machine double-A-arm with a rack-and-pinion steering system. Just like the Perimeter X, the rear suspension choices include a canted four-link, torque arm, IRS, parallel four-link, or ladder bar systems.
- Both frames can be configured to fit virtually any engine combination of popular GM, Ford, and Pontiac engines.
- Tin kits include interior and trunk floor, firewall, transmission and driveshaft tunnel, and wheel tubs.
- Brake kits ranging from 11.75- to 15-inch.
- Rearends can be configured with either late Big Ford or Chassisworks Pro Touring Floater housing ends.
- Fabricated FAB9 rearend housings for all suspensions.
