CarBuzz Debuts Their Latest 2015 Mustang Rendering

According to inside sources, the 2015 Ford Mustang is set to make a January debut. That means we’re still a good four months or so from getting an official look at the next generation of Ford muscle cars. But between some well-placed spy shots and renderings from various automotive outlets and blogs, we’ve got a pretty good idea of what the next Mustang will look like.

On the other hand, we’re not tired of seeing various graphics wizards duke it out for best prediction of what the 2015 Mustang will actually look like, and CarBuzz has just thrown their hat in the ring with this latest take of the S550 Mustang. This mashup of the current and next-gen Mustang has the right feel to it, but how close are they to the actual design?

As spy shots have already revealed, Ford is going for a very Evos Concept-inspired front end, not unlike the one that debuted on the new Ford Fusion to almost universal accolades. In this rendering the slanted headlights are a little harder than on some other renderings we’ve seen, though the tail lights still look very flat in comparison to the rest of the car. From what we’ve heard, the new back lights have some depth to them as well.

Yet we must take issue with the proportions of CarBuzz’s new Mustang rendering. According to other reports, the new Mustang will be shorter by a foot or two, and lighter by some 400 pounds, That’ll make it a much smaller car, while CarBuzz’s rendering appears to keep the same general dimensions of the current crop of S197 Mustangs. It seems that if these reports of a much smaller, lighter Mustang are true, then no rendering has quite nailed down the proportions of the 2015 Mustang. It may not be until Ford shows us the actual car or we get a better spy shot that anyone can be certain about much more than what’s already slipped out about the most anticipated new car of the next year.
