Bullitt Returns To Theaters For Another Big-Screen Chase

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the movie Bullitt, which starred Steve McQueen and featured one of the most famous chase scenes in cinema history. Ford marked the occasion by bringing back the original movie car and delivering a modern version for sale, but now the film is headed back into theaters.

We are thrilled to be celebrating the movie’s 50th anniversary… — Tom Lucas, Fathom Events

Bullitt is a true fan-favorite classic making it an obvious addition to the Fathom lineup this year,” Tom Lucas, Fathom Events VP of Studio Relations, said. “We are thrilled to be celebrating the movie’s 50th anniversary with Warner Bros. by presenting it the way the film should be seen — on the big screen — this October.”

In celebration of its 50th Anniversary, Bullitt is returning to theaters for two showings in early October. As part of this re-release the movie received a new 50th anniversary logo (left).

The 10-plus minute chase scene, which earned film editor Frank P. Keller an Academy Award, should look amazing in the theaters. If you have been itching to see Steve McQueen racing a Mustang around the streets of San Francisco on something bigger than your TV screen, this is your shot.

On Sunday, October 7 and Tuesday, October 9, at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. (local time), Bullitt will be shown in theaters once again. You can purchase tickets to these 50th anniversary screenings now on the Fathom Events site right here or at your local participating theater box office.
