Bruder Brothers Claim X275 Record At Haltech Door Wars in Maryland

Arguably the hardest working, most consistent and toughest duo in X275 drag radial racing, Rich and Nick Bruder laid claim to the X275 ET world record during the Haltech Engine Management Systems Door Wars presented by: Winegardner Auto Group at Maryland International Raceway in Budds Creek, Maryland last weekend.

After competing in events in Georgia, Tennessee, Texas, and Oklahoma, the Bruders returned to home turf where they have tested for years at the world famous Budds Creek facility. Coming out of the trailer in normal Bruder Brothers fashion, they unloaded a 4.40-second blast right out of the box to set the pace for the weekend. After making more consistent laps through testing and the early rounds of qualifying, Nick decided to lean on the hot rod just a little more and try to ramp more boost in quicker, pushing the DiSomma Racing Engine tucked under the hood to try and go after the world record.

One of the most dedicated teams to the class, the Bruders are back on top of the ET rankings after their 4.37 at MDIR.

Like most racers, the Bruders are driven by competition and the glory of being on top is like no other. Rolling up to the line under the lights at MDIR, Rich backing into the hot rubber laid down from the burnout, the moment was upon the competitive and driven duo to take back the record. After turning loose of the transbrake, the Racecraft, Inc.-equipped hot rod blasted off the starting line, lifted the nose just a few inches as the boost was pumped through the engine making massive amounts of horsepower. Sitting the nose down and driving out the back door, straight as a string, Rich Bruder lit the scoreboards to the tune of a 4.37 at 161 mph. That run stands as the record under the current 2016 ruleset and is second only to Jared Johnston’s 4.372 in the all-time history of the class.

Be on the lookout for the Bruders over the next few weeks as they plan to keep the consistent barrage of quick elapsed times coming to the competitive world of X275 drag racing.
