Breaking News: Remainder Of Mustang Week 2019 Canceled

Breaking News – Due to circumstances out of anyone’s control, the Mustang Week staff has been forced to cancel the remainder of Mustang Week 2019 due to Hurricane Dorian. After much speculation and hoping that the Hurricane’s path would change, a South Carolina coast landfall became undeniable late Sunday evening. South Carolina Govenor McMaster ordered an evacuation via an executive order about 6:00 on Sunday evening. You can see the official order here.

The Mustang Week Staff did everything possible to hold any portion of the event possible, and were able to carry on both Monday’s Pre-Meet and Greet at Hard Rock and Tuesday’s Meet and Greet at Broadway At The Beach before being left with no choice but to officially cancel the event. The official word came down from Mustang Week staff member Mike Clay via social media about 1:40 on Tuesday. You can see the official announcement below:

The Mustang Week staff first canceled the track events on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, before ultimately making the decision to cancel the Friday and Saturday car show portion of the event. It seems they’ve made the best decision in regard to the safety of Mustang Week attendees and staff, as Myrtle Beach prepares to brave the storm.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Mustang Week Staff, all the participants, the vendors, and everyone still in the path of this storm. Please be safe returning home!
