Through the love of a 2014 California Special GT, United States Marine Corp Veteran John Forrester, pays tribute to his fallen brothers. Inspired by the P-51 Fighter Jet of World War Two, Forester styled his Mustang taking inspiration from the legendary fighter while paying homage to his fallen comrades at the same time.
With nothing more than a monthly military paycheck he brought this rolling tribute to life. Upon graduation from college and returning home from a tour in Iraq Forester wanted to celebrate his accomplishments with something that would have special meaning and represent his time spent in the Marine Corps. So naturally he married his love for the Mustang and his love for serving his country into one beastly creation.
Forester set out to create a ride that had meaning throughout. Beginning with the engine bay a Stage 3 VMP Supercharger kit with an upgraded fuel system and pulley was slapped on to amp up performance on and off the track. Further awakening this sleeping beauty Kooks headers were dropped on along with a Bassini H-pipe to bump up the horsepower. A custom SCT tune by VMP was uploaded to unleash the beast. For those bangin passes down the strip the suspension was upgraded with a complete Ford Racing kit, 2 tone Niche Apex 20-inch wheels with Mickey Thompson tires were installed. The exhaust set up and appearance were finished with a GT500 rear valance and quad tips.
Moving into the cabin area to build upon the P-51 theme a custom vinyl dashboard and door panels were designed and installed. There’s a custom IPAD setup, Corbeau racing harnesses with pads for the track days. Custom red interior lighting LED’s with custom trunk lid graphics were added to the interior set up. Finishing off with the exterior is a custom P-51 themed vinyl wrap design with airbrushed rivets by Elliot Hernandez .
The final product is a work of art in motion remembering our men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our great nation. Daring not to forget we are the heirs of a dream, John Forester chooses to remember this everyday through his patriotic pony paying tribute to those that have allowed us to walk among the free.
