SEMA 2018: ROUSH Performance Gives The 2018 F-150 A Boost

Radical yet affordable trucks are hard to come by from the factory. Thankfully, ROUSH Performance has been filling that gap for the Ford F-150. For the 2015-present F-150, they offer the specialized SC Package that gives the 5.0-liter V8 added grunt, while also revising the suspension, exterior, and other elements.

We caught up with ROUSH at this year’s SEMA Show to get a download on what this package means for late-model F-150 owners. On hand was ROUSH’s Will Woodington, who laid out all of the details for us.

“We’ve offered this package practically since the new generation F-150 arrived,” said Woodington. “It’s got good upgrades and makes the most sense for guys that want a better F-150, but also want something different from a Raptor.”

Of course, what better way to make that distinction than to offer a power adder? You guessed it – a supercharger (hence the SC moniker). ROUSH’s is an R2650 model, which cranks the engine’s output to 650 horsepower and 610 lb-ft of torque.

In addition to the supercharger, ROUSH also swaps the stock struts and shocks for ROUSH/FOX 2.0 Performance Series units.

“The rears are swapped with FOX’s replacement shocks, while the fronts become FOX coilovers that level out the truck by lifting the front by two inches,” said Woodington. “FOX’s shocks take the ride comfort to new heights on-road, and they have off-road ability as well.”

The centerpiece of the SC package is a 2650 supercharger system. With the blower installed, the V8 makes 650 horsepower and 610 lb-ft of torque.

As for the exterior, ROUSH does away with the stock exhaust and replaces it with its optional 304 stainless steel cat-back exhaust system.

“We also have active technology on the system, so users can choose between loud, roaring sound or quieter, more subdued noise,” said Woodington. Fender flares also come into play, and Woodington claims ROUSH’s flares are the only ones on the market that work with Ford’s Active Park Assist technology, which helps drivers parallel-park the truck in tight, urban situations.

Other distinguishing touches on the truck are custom-embroidered leather inserts, custom floormats, and serialized badging. In all, the package will run you about $22,500.
