These new fuel pumps are both gasoline and methanol compatible and will last much longer than the older style brushed fuel pumps. This brushless design has a controller that pulses an electromagnet on the outside of that spins the motor itself. According to Mark Hutchison of DeatschWerks, “This design is super efficient, offers less friction, and can flow more without using as much amperage.” Mark continued,” With these pumps being frictionless, you can put a lot more voltage to it, and it reacts much better than the brushed-style pump.”

When asked how the 425 brushless pump compares to a standard 400 Mark stated, “The brushless design is smaller and is a lot quieter than the standard 400 pumps and is capable of producing up to 1,000 horsepower on gasoline.”
