Vogtland Springs has been a long-time contributor to the performance aftermarket suspension industry. Founded more than 100 years ago in Germany, the family-run company focused on equestrian trailers and industrial spring applications before realizing the potential of the performance automotive market.
Vogtland is known for their proprietary Chrome-Silicon material. By engineering a spring material that provides increased spring rate for a thinner gauge, they are able to cold-wind springs that are lighter than the competition, but retain the same performance characteristics. Producing springs and coilover kits for the racing and lifestyle markets, Vogtland has a kit to suit most vehicles.
While their lowering springs are geared toward street use and aesthetics, the company offers adjustable coilover systems for the track, the latest of which is a suspension system for the new globally-available S550 Mustang. For the first time the Ford Mustang will be available in showrooms all around the world. Already available in Germany, the engineers at Vogtland got their hands on one and began designing a suspension setup to improve this already modernized musclecar.
The Mustang suspension lowers the updated Ponycar from between 1.3 to 2.5 inches, and features adjustable struts. With the improved ride-height, damping control, and reduced weight, Mustang owners will be better equipped for car shows as well as the track. Not yet in full production, the Mustang kit displayed was the first model out of manufacturing, and we hope to see a production run soon.
