I am not going to lie, when Don Creason (StangTV editor) hit me up and asked if I wanted to write a monthly blog for StangTV I was pretty surprised to say the least. Sure I live and breathe Mustangs every day of my life, especially with a job at CJ Pony Parts, but I am nobody special, just another enthusiast who simply enjoys these cars. I guess I will start with a little history of who I am and how I got to where I am in the industry.

Getting my very first Mustang -I still have this car and am restoring it.

I have been into Mustangs as long as I can remember. When I was 4 years old, my parents took me to an amusement park and we went on the ride with the cars that went around in circles, I jumped in the Mustang. I am really not sure where the fascination came from. My dad liked cars but I would never classify him as an enthusiast, although I would be remiss in not thanking Dad and Mom for always supporting my hobby, especially in the early years before the burden was passed to my wife.

My first Mustang was purchased when I was 14 years old. I had a VW bug that I sold for a nice profit to buy the Mustang. It was a red 69 convertible with a big block and a 4 speed. I remember dad driving it home and saying it was way too fast for my first car. I couldn’t wait to drive it and took it for a few drives when the parents weren’t looking. That car was seriously rare, I honestly had no idea at the time how rare it was but it needed some repairs I could never afford so I sold it off.

Taking delivery of my 2015 GT

Sometimes all it takes is going for a ride in a Mustang to get you hooked. Yes that’s me at age 3 or 4.

Since that first pony became mine I have owned 48 others including my current 2015 Mustang GT which I absolutely love. I really wanted my 15 to be my 50th Mustang to celebrate the 50th Anniversary but I missed it by 1. There are worse things I guess. My 2015 has become a project car for my employer, CJ Pony Parts. So far I have added a Roush/FRPP Supercharger, Borla exhaust, TSW wheels, Steeda suspension, Redline hood struts, JLT coolant tank, and several small upgrades. It’s pretty much a guarantee that this list will change before you even read this. As of this writing I have had 15 different exhaust systems on the car! The life of a project car but no complaints here!

As far as my job at CJs many of you may know me from our awesome install videos. I moved to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania in 2005 after closing my shop, to work for CJ Pony Parts. Over the years I have done sales, managed our restoration and performance shop, and now handle all of our videos as the host. I never saw myself as the “on camera” type but I love what I do and have some good people in my corner that make me look like I know what I am doing. If you ever have any requests for an install video please feel free to send them my way at [email protected], if possible we love to accommodate viewer requests!
