Over 100 Photos from the Mustang Owner’s Museum Opening

After much anticipation on April 17th, the ribbon was cut to officially open the Mustang Owner’s Museum in Concord, North Carolina just down the street from Charlotte Motor Speedway. A crowd of over 500 Mustang enthusiasts gathered for this event. The Mustangs that were on display were privately owned and on loan to the Museum. Just about every year ‘stang was on display. There were your everyday drivers to Saleen, Shelby, Roush to the latest 2019, GT500. At the same time going on down the street at the speedway was the 55th anniversary celebration of the Mustang.

Charlotte Motor Speedway Hosts the 55th Anniversary of the Mustang

April 17th was the 55th anniversary of the Ford Mustang, so a celebration had to be put on and Charlotte Motor Speedway was the place to hold it. Mustang enthusiasts from all around the world made the trek to the big speedway to take part in this great gathering. There were folks from Sweden, Brazil, Australia, and Aruba to name a few. Opening day there were over 600 Mustangs of all years covering the show field. There was a great turnout of vendors selling everything Mustang. Some of the vendors were Roush Performance, CJ Pony Parts, Detroit Speed, Wilwood Brakes, Ford Motor Company, Saleen Performance, and Holman & Moody to name a few. The Mustang Club of America was on hand selling all types of apparel and taking applications for membership. The editor of the MCA magazine, Donald Farr, was selling and autographing his new book on the BOSS 429. There were guest speakers on hand during the four-day event giving talks. Some of them were Gale Halderman the designer of the Mustang, John Clor, Ford Mustang Enthusiast Manager, Lee Holman of Holman & Moody, and Tom Cotter who has written several books on barn finds. There were also track activities where some enthusiasts could make laps on the Roval Road Course. This was a great event and I am sure that there will be a 60th anniversary celebration in five years.
