Most of us have been at the mall or at a car show and had someone come up to us and offer to sell us a raffle ticket for a brand new car. Most folks don’t buy one though, because they don’t think they’ll win. We don’t know how this lady came to have the raffle ticket, but what we do know is that that purchase won her a brand new 2012 Shelby GT500 SVT Performance Pack car.
The other thing we know is that the woman, for whatever reason, doesn’t want to keep the car. The winner’s kid is posting on Modded Mustangs trying to get details on what the car is and what it’s worth. The poster has the window sticker with a price $56,205. The person is smart enough to understand pure sticker price might not be possible.
The photos that are posted clearly show the GT500 is still at whatever Ford dealer offered it up for raffle. We’re thinking that perhaps it’s not that the winner doesn’t want the car – she apparently has a Mustang already. Perhaps it’s the taxes on the very expensive car that are causing the pause. The poster claims that the winner just doesn’t want to pay insurance and put gas in the car. Still, that’s some good luck. Some of the responses to the request for pricing are telling the seller to ask in the $40,000 to $45,000 range. We think a brand new GT500 with only a few hundred miles might be worth a little more than that.
