Revealed at the 2014 New York International Auto Show, the 2015 Ford Mustang GT 50th Anniversary Edition is everything a Mustang collector needs. Loaded with every option and available in just one of two colors, it will be limited to just 1,964 examples, a hat tip to the Mustang’s launch year. Anybody who gets their hand on this as-yet-unpriced 2015 Mustang will be in exclusive company.

But there is a 2015 Mustang even more unique, a true one-of-a-kind car championing a noble cause. That car is a 50th Anniversary 2015 Mustang Convertible, whereas all the other 50th Anniversary models will be coupes. You can’t buy this special Mustang either.

Instead, it will be raffled off to benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. That means those of us without the means to buy a fully-equipped 2015 Mustang GT with all the bells and whistles have a real shot at winning this new ride. At $20 per ticket, it’s pretty damn affordable too, and while we wouldn’t advise investing your life savings into this raffle, if you’ve got a $100 you’re willing to roll the dice on, this is as good a bet as any.

This unique 50th Anniversary Mustang comes painted in Wimbledon White with the six-speed manual transmission, the NMSS people having settled on this fine combination for you. If you think about it, this is a really cool move by Ford, because they already know the collectors are going to snatch up all the special editions before us regular guys get a shot. But with this raffle, just about anybody has a chance, no matter how small, to win a 2015 Mustang nobody else will have, and the money supports a great cause.

This one of one convertible is destined to become an instant collectors item, the kind of thing you see roll across a Mecum or Barret-Jackson auction block every so often. Whoever ends up with the car, we hope they will enjoy it, and preserve it for what it is. The drawing is a cool way to support a good cause, and a great way to gamble on getting your hands on a very special Mustang.
