Let’s say you’re the owner of a spiffy new ROUSH-supercharged Mustang and you’re looking to up the ante a little bit. Well, the ROUSH 2.3-liter TVS-series supercharger kits and vehicles have been offered in 525 hp, 540 hp, and 575 hp versions since the release of the Coyote-powered Mustang in 2011, and now the company offers an easy upgrade kit for those of you looking for a bit more power from your machine. ROUSH Performance’s engineering capabilities are legendary within the performance industry and they bring the full might of their organization to bear when developing any of their performance vehicles and kits. We’ve been to their Michigan compound and can say without a doubt that it’s an impressive place to visit. Their attention to detail shows up in everything they do.
The ROUSH Mustang Phase 2 625 HP Supercharger Upgrade Kit comes with a new 85mm six-rib supercharger pulley, a new drive belt, and an all-new ROUSH Cold Air Induction kit featuring a new 110mm MAF tube, larger clean air tube, open air box, and re-usable performance air filter. In addition, the ROUSH team sends along one of their custom-calibrated Mustang Powertrain Control Modules that’s been set up to take advantage of the additional airflow and maximize your performance.
You do have to return your old PCM back to ROUSH, and they do stress that this voids your factory 3/36 warranty, nor is it 50-state legal at this time, but for those of you who live outside the state of California, it’s a great way to maximize the performance of your ROUSH-supercharged Mustang. The kit comes with a great set of instructions and can be installed in about an hour with a basic set of hand tools. Reviews of the kit from actual owners are at the bottom of the product page – this one looks like a winner.
