Video: Twin Turbo Coyote 5.0 Lays Down Over 700 RWHP

Though it has only been on the market in the Mustang for a couple of years, Ford’s Coyote 5.0 engine has already assured itself a place among other legendary motors. Powerful, efficient, and amazingly resilient, the Coyote 5.0 engine takes to forced induction and aftermarket modifications like a duck to water. And as the years roll on, pioneers in the performance field are pushing power to new extremes.

The Twin Turbo 5.0 project has been developing a twin-turbo kit for stock Coyote 5.0 Mustangs for about a year. The team recently took the Mustang to the dyno after a successful 206 MPH run at the Texas Mile in March, and in addition to sounding like a soul-sucking demon car, this twin-turbo 5.0 put down a remarkable 719 horsepower and 661 ft-lbs of torque at the wheels.

Believe it or not, these power numbers were achieved on the stock long block, all the way down to the stock intake manifold. Mating up to the 5.0 is their new twin-turbo system which, when it goes on sale, will include tuning software from Jon Lund, an air-to-water intercooler system, two 60 mm turbochargers, and everything else needed to seriously upgrade your Coyote engine. Keep a look out for an official public release of the kit at the end of this year.

That 711 horsepower number was at just 10 psi of boost, and the powerband is absolutely beautiful. Yet another testament both to the skills of aftermarket professionals, and of Ford’s awesome Coyote 5.0 engine. They’re going to have a hard time topping it.
