We love to watch muscle cars, old and new, tear up the track. Especially with drivers like Matt Farah testing them out at Willow Springs. On Tuned, Matt starts out with a 70s Dodge Challenger T/A with a 340 and a 6-pack. Although, it’s slower than most on the track, it’s still a beauty to watch. As Matt said, the old cars have not stood the test of time and modern cars handle MUCH better on the track. He mentions that the, “340 V8 is as useless for drag racing as a rear wing is on a civic, it’s lighter weight and higher red line make it great on a road course.”
This video is about John Hotchkis and his amazing state-of-the-art suspension company that he started in 1993, and testing out his suspension out on the road course. That yellow Dodge challenger that Matt is driving is Mr. Hotchkis’ “show piece”. It handles way better than any of the muscle cars would have back in the day as it features updated Hotchkis suspension.
After Matt tests out the Challenger, he takes it modern by stepping into Mike Heintz’s new 2011 Grabber Blue Ford Mustang GT RTR complete featuring a Magnuson supercharger giving this bad ‘Stang 560-RWHP. Not only that but it also has Hotchkis suspension, Wilwood big brakes, RTR package by Vaughn Gittin Jr., racing seats, and according to Mr. Farah, it “sounds like it’s about to win the Daytona 500.”
Michael’s full mod list on his 2011 GT include MagnaCharger TVS 2300 Blower from Magnuson Products, Total Vehicle System from Hotchkis Sport Suspension that includes adjustable upper control arm, lower control arms, subframe connectors, front chassis brace, springs, sway bars, panhard bar. Other mods include Bassani Xhaust longtube headers with a full catback exhaust connected with a resonated X-pipe. He also has a few sponsors supporting this blue beast: Magnuson Superchargers, Hotchkis Sport Suspension, Bassani Xhaust, Hillbank Motorsports, Yokohama Advan, and AEM Intakes and Electronics.
