Originally commissioned by skateboarding legend, Tony Hawk, designed and built by Galpin Ford in Los Angeles, this “Hawkized” 2011 Mustang was sold at auction during the 2ndAnnual Barrett-Jackson Orange County Auction this past weekend. This is the second time the car has been auctioned to benefit charity.
The Mustang is included as part of a larger Total California Experience package, which included dinner with the Hawk himself, Tony Hawk autographed merchandise, tickets to the annual ‘Stand Up For Skateparks’ event in Las Vegas and a taco party for 50 catered by Wahoo Fish Taco. All proceeds from the auction are to benefit the Center for Living Peace and the Tony Hawk Foundation.
Equipped with a custom Katzkin leather interior, Street Scene body kit, custom grille, TIS 3-piece wheels with Pirelli tires, Flowmaster exhaust and JL Audio system, the car also features a custom paint job with the “Hawkized” logo on the hood and a Tony Hawk monogram on the side
“I’m proud to have created this custom Mustang with the help of DUB and GalpinFord. It’s truly a one-of-a-kind ride, and the proceeds from this sale will benefit two great causes that support youth,” said Hawk.
Southern California native Tony Hawk, began skateboarding at age 9 and by the age of 12 he was winning amateur contests throughout California. He turned pro at age 14 and by 16 he was widely regarded as the best competitive skateboarder in the world.
The car was originally acquired by Wahoo Fish Taco owner, Wing Lam, who subsequently re-gifted the car to the Center for Living Peace. He explains the arrangements and objectives in the video below, along with Tony Hawk.
