Let’s start out by saying that we do not condone street racing by any means, but this is an interesting heads-up comparison race between two different platforms with two very different engines. The ’13-’14 Mustang GT/CS is equipped with the Coyote 5.0-liter accompanied by a Hellion twin-turbo kit, while the SN-95 Cobra is powered by an engine swap consisting of a 4.6-liter Terminator engine mated to a big Whipple blower.

These two Ford Mustangs are both equipped with power adders that give a significant increase in horsepower. A stock Terminator is claimed to make 390 horsepower and 390 ft-lb of torque but was later said that the engine was underrated and made 400+. The stock Terminator was given an Eaton roots supercharger, but the one in this video is equipped with a big Whipple according to the video description.

On the other hand, the Coyote Mustang makes over 400 naturally-aspirated horses straight out of the factory gates. According to Hellion, the addition of their twin-turbo “Eliminator” kit (twin 62mm Precision Turbos, 40mm wastegate, 80-lb injectors and a hand-held tuner) can bump the Coyote to over 600 horsepower running at 5 psi. With the right modifications on a built engine, an impressive 1,200 hp can be achieved.

All we know is that the GT/CS was running on low boost ,an automatic transmission and 20-inch drag radials. Besides the big Whipple, it was said that the SN-95 Cobra was running 17-inch drag radials. With all of that power, the Terminator-swapped SN-95 Mustang won out over the Coyote Mustang by a whole two car lengths.
