Tanner Foust is a busy man these days. When he isn’t busy racing for the Blue Oval at events all over the world, he is often hosting the American version of Top Gear. Make no mistake though, Foust is one hell of a driver who would put all of us to shame on the track. He really knows what he is doing behind the wheel, which is good if one plans to make a living as a professional race car driver.

Ford of Europe recently invited Foust to come and test drive their RS500 Ford Focus on the famed Nurburgring in Germany.

This limited edition of the Ford Focus packs about 350 horsepower, sent to a limited-slip differential that powers the front wheels. Foust describes the track as sort of a high-speed toll road, where you pay to drive at top speed throughout the track. On an average day you can expect to see BMW’s, Ferraris, and all sorts of sports cars.

Unfortunately, Ford only saw fit to include about 20 seconds of actual driving around the ‘Ring in this video, so we don’t really get a chance to see Foust work his magic. But in the brief racing clip we do see Foust passing a Ferrari…in a Ford Focus! We gotta imagine that the Ferrari driver had something of a bruised ego after getting show up by an (expensive) economy car. It’s a neat video and well worth a gander if you ask us.
