Video: Tanner Foust Runs Hot Laps In 2013 Shelby GT500

Being a big name racer means getting access to a world of fast cars, hot girls, and wild parties that most of us peons can only dream about. We’d be happy with any of the above three, though we imagine most drivers find that the opportunity to get behind the wheel of a badass car before anybody else is probably the best perk of any job.

So it is that we can only watch in envy as world famous rally racer Tanner Foust hops behind the wheel of both the 2013 GT500 coupe and convertible for some hot laps around the track.

Packing a new 5.8 liter supercharged V8 that cranks out 650 horsepower, the 2013 Shelby GT500 will have an estimated top speed of over 200 mph. The suspension is track tuned, a launch control system is now standard, and we really love what Ford has done with the new LED taillights. Foust got wheel time with the GT500 convertible, which is electronically limited to just 155 mph but looks like it can handle the up and down corners of Virginia International Raceway with ease.

There isn’t really much to say about this video; Foust makes rocking a 650 horsepower Shelby look easy, though we imagine all the awesome features that went into making this car are also helping quite a bit. And can we all agree that a 2013 Shelby GT500 in Grabber Blue might just be one of the best looking Mustangs ever conceived? Glad you agree.
