Video: QA1 Ford Mustang Drag Racing Suspension Kit

Whether you are just getting started in drag racing or your are looking to improve your existing car’s launches a proper suspension is crucial. To show how QA1 can help you reach your goals, Dave Goldie of goes over the basics of drag racing suspension kits and components in a helpful new video.

During the video Dave explains that there are two levels of kits available for Mustangs ranging 1979 to 2014. The level one kit features adjustable shocks, adjustable struts, boxed control arms, adjustable uppers, and a rear sway bar. As he goes through each component in the kit, the advantages are explained for even the novice racer.

Essentially, the level-one kit allows the user to adjust the resistance to meet the needs of their car and the power that it produces. Obviously, higher horsepower applications require some different settings to maximize the 60-foot times and deliver an ideal launch.

As Dave gets into the level-two kit, he details the differences between the two kits and mentions that all of the components are available to purchase individually. Stepping up this kit provides more weight-saving components that are manufactured to withstand the rigors of the race track.

In the side-by-side comparison of factory components versus QA1’s components, the difference is obvious just in size. By switching from a factory K-member to the lightweight, tubular K-member, there is a weight savings of 25 pounds. Improved weight transfer and shedding additional pounds will definitely improve launches and elapsed times.
