Renowned tuners Jon Lund and Ken Bjonnes have been featured here on the pages of DRAGZINE on more than one occasion recently as they pounded out a succession of killer performances from the Lund-owned and Bjonnes-driven 2011 Ford Mustang GT 5.0L that features a custom twin turbocharged engine combination producing in excess of 600 horsepower on a meager 9 pounds of boost, and 800 on 13 psi but has since turned the wick…way up.

After ripping off a stout 9.42 elapsed time while competing in the Super Stang category at the NMRA Spring Break Shootout in Bradenton, Fla. earlier this month, Lund and Bjonnes set their sights on the goal of cracking 200 miles per hour at the Texas Mile – a feat they broke this recent weekend at the Beeville, Tex. facility – more than 1,300 miles from their West Palm Beach, Fla. departure point. After a few licensing passes to make sure driver Ken Bjonnes could handle the Mustang, they cracked the barrier with a 206.2 mph pass on what otherwise looks like a docile 2011 GT.

Lund and Bjonnes have been joined by a number of other Lund-tuned machines for a chance at standing-mile glory, including the Revan Racing Shelby Super Snake that, compliments of a Kenne Bell supercharger setup, delivers more than 1,000 horsepower and nearly 1,000 ft/lbs of torque to the pavement. The awe-inspirting Super Snake scorched the Texas Mile strip with a trap speed of 207.7 MPH on its opening lap, setting the stage for an exciting weekend of high-speed action.
