Drifting is a sport learned through trial and error. It’s something that can have severe negative effects…like crashing into a wall when spinning out of control. But how about avoiding the city streets and taking it to a huge dry lake bed instead?
Check out this video featuring a Ford Mustang 5.0 and a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo having a blast on this huge dry lake bed with a GoPro Hero 2 HD camera and an Align T-Rex 550E. There’s no denying that the cars are going to get downright filthy but with a nice playground such as this, though it has got to be worth it. How much fun would it be to have access to square miles of open flat dirt and no obstacles whatsoever to overcome, just pure drifting awesomeness.
The Evo is a respectable import car (although, very different) complete with all wheel drive and a turbo setup. And of course our 5.0 V8 GT Mustang with huge billowing dust clouds kicked up by the rear tires as it seems to just glide over the dry dirt with the mountain scenery as a nice backdrop. Whether the two are drifting solo or together, it’s still a fun thing to watch.
