Drifting is a sport that’s dangerous even in the closed confines of a professional race track. But it’s a sport that (supposedly) originated on the high mountain roads of rural Japan, where tight switchbacks and no room for error were constant companions. Some might say that the added danger only makes drifting more fun and entertaining to watch.
If you disagree, just watch this video of two motorcyclists being chased by a Mustang up and down some high roads, low dips and scenic country.
It doesn’t take long for Ernie Vigil and Nick Apex to get on their motorcycles and start causing a ruckus. If you’ve never seen a motorcycle drift before, you are in for a real treat, as these two-wheeled dare devils shred tire and blow smoke while getting sideways on the Oregon Race track.
Their activities soon draw the ire of Officer Dan and his supercharged, 550 horsepower Mustang. Let’s just say he has a low tolerance for hooning, and about halfway into the video Officer Dan finally catches up to the mayhem-making motorcyclists. What follows is a drift battle through rural Oregon that must be seen to appreciate.
