We brought you the scoop on the awesome Hellion 2015 Mustang GT, equipped with a twin turbo system earlier this week. The Competition Orange fastback debuted at the 2014 SEMA show, wearing a pair of Precision turbos, and was making 750 hp to the rear tires at the time of the show. It should be noted that this car has the upgraded Precision 64/66 turbos, standard kits will utilize Precision 62 kits with the 64/66 available as an upgrade. This was all done with the stock 2015 GT internals.
Hellion front man, and NMRA Street Outlaw champion, John Urist, hinted to us at the SEMA show that he knew there was more in the combination, and that he planned to take the car to the next level once he got it back to Hellion headquarters near Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Urist, sent us a text message earlier today letting us know that there was a new video, showing what happens when he tapped the button on the Turbosmart EBoost2 controller and took things from 12-14 psi up just a notch to 16.5 psi. That small bump in boost doesn’t sound like much, but on this car it made a major difference. Add in an updated tune from Blow By Racing, and the car was making a staggering 949 hp and 806 ft-lbs of torque.
We detailed the specs of the Hellion Eliminator twin turbo system for the S550 in our SEMA coverage. In short, the system is a complete bolt-on that doesn’t require cutting, welding, or hacking up the car. Everything, including the tune, is included to take any S550 GT from mild mannered street GT, to super car terrorizing beast. The kits will be available after the first of the year.
We’re hoping, maybe, Urist, will toss us the keys to an equipped car sometime in the future for a little test drive. Until then, we’ll be waiting to see just how fast the Eliminator is on the drag strip, as we’re sure the Hellion crew will be going for the tile of fastest “street driven 15 GT” by this spring. Don’t be surprised if this car doesn’t turn up at the NMRA spring break shootout to turn a few heads and hurt some feelings.
