Video: Four Hard-Hitting Vortech Supercharged Muscle Cars

Vortech and Paxton Superchargers are among the best known names in the forced induction business. Their supercharger systems can be found on a wide range of vehicles from every corner of the world. Yet the crux of their business has to be in American muscle cars, many of which utilize Vortech and Paxton supercharger systems to push out 500 horsepower or more.

This video from Vortech and Paxton highlights four muscle cars (well three and an import) sporting their supercharger systems, giving us a cool look at what Vortech can do.

First up is the Tjin Edition/UTI Ford Mustang, fitted with the already-famous Coyote 5.0 V8. While it has been heavily modified in every regard, the heart of this pony is a Paxton supercharger system that helps the Coyote crank out 615 horsepower and 475 ft-lbs of torque at just 8 psi of boost.

Also coming out of Ford’s stable is the “Last Ride” 5.0 Mustang. This bad boy packs a Vortech supercharger system, helping to boost power to 605 ponies and torque to 473 ft-lbs on 8 psi of boost. Plus the dark looks of this tribute car really give it a stand-out appeal.

That isn’t all though. How does a Grabber Blue Camaro SS with a Vortech supercharger sound? This droptop bowtie also sports a Vortech supercharger, which helps the 6.2 liter V8 crank out 625 horsepower and a mind-blowing 568 ft-lbs of torque on just 7 PSI.

And we’ve saved the least for last, a Nissan 370Z, the closest Japanese car makers have to a true muscle car. We give credit where credit is due, and the 440 horsepower and 380 ft-lbs of torque from the Vortech supercharged V6 is a big improvement over stock. But give us modern American muscle with a supercharger any day.
