It is already a well-documented fact that Ford’s new 5.0 liter Coyote V8 engine replies very well aftermarket modifications, from air intakes to exhaust systems. But piecing together the right modifications that will complement each other perfectly and deliver the most power for the best price can be a tricky and confusing process.
Luckily the guys at Late Model Restoration have put together what they are calling the Performance Pack for 2011-13 Ford Mustang GT’s. LMR put this kit to the test on their dyno, and the results were even better than we anticipated.
Priced at $979, the SVE Performance Pack includes a JLT Performance cold-air intake, a SCT SF3 handheld tuner, and Ford Racing GT500 axle-back mufflers. A Blow-By racing custom tune rounds the package out, and the whole package takes about an hour or so to install. So far so good, right?
Well it gets even better. After putting their project car on the dyno, LMR was able to see how much power they added. Stock, the Mustang a respectable 363 horsepower and 354 ft-lbs of torque at the wheels. After adding the SVE Performance Pack, power at the wheels increased by 30 horsepower and 21 ft-lbs of torque, all for under a $1,000 and an hours worth of work. What more could you want? Check out the dyno video and listen to this better-breathing Mustang roar.
