Back in the 1950’s, it seemed like automakers weren’t trying to outbuild each other, as well as out-chrome each other. Chrome has always, and likely always will be an integral part of the car culture. While we like it as an accent, on trim and wheels and even hood ornaments, there is such a thing as “too much chrome.” We believe this might be one of those cases.

Behold, the chrome-painted Mustang, in all of its hideous glory! This car was done by the aptly named Creations ‘n’ Chrome, though it actually isn’t a finished car.

This car was actually at the SEMA show two weeks ago, though it looked nothing like this. That is because this chrome paint, called Spectra Chrome, actually served as a base for a pink color. Yes, this car was actually the hot pink “Pony Girl” 5.0 from the 2010 SEMA Show.

This aptly-named car has a Vortech supercharger under the hood, boosting the already-potent 5.0 engine. It also has a nitrous system, Wilwood big brakes, and an upgraded suspension system, making this girl’s car a real track monster. It was built and painted pink to help raise awareness for Breast Cancer. While we are glad it didn’t turn out all-chrome like we first thought, at the same time we are starting to think an all-chrome Mustang might not be such a bad idea. Which would you rather have, a pink Mustang or a chrome one?
