Out of more than 7 billion people on the planet Earth, just 300 million live in the United States and have ready, easy access to a vast collection of classic American muscle cars. But for much of the rest of the world, these cars remain all but unattainable unless you are fabulously wealthy or happen to work in the classic car import/export business. Many people dream of the day they can drive a classic American muscle car, but never quite get there.

But there are other options, including the UK-based Classic American Muscle experience, which for £199 will let you get behind the driver’s seat of one of two 1965 Ford Mustang and a 1970 BOSS 302 Mustang among others. HonestJohn.co.uk reports that the first 150 July customers get a free hot lap as a passenger for the money you can’t go wrong.

Now that £249 works out to about $300 in U.S. cash, or a couple days worth of work for most people, so it’s not exactly cheap. But considering a classic Ford Mustang can easily set you back $50,000 or more in the U.K. (and that’s for nothing special), it’s an incredible bargain considering the cars you get access to.

All the Mustangs participating have received a host of engine mods many including intake, carburetor, and camshaft swaps. They’ve also received suspension mods to make them a little more track-friendly. We think the 1970 Boss 302 Mustang will be the most popular with classic Mustang enthusiasts, though the two ‘65s (which have been converted to more-powerful solid-lifter equipped 302 V8s) should have plenty of fans as well. Those looking for something more modern can take a few laps in a 1995 Mustang GT equipped with a 4.6, while two 1979 Corvettes are also available.

That $300 gets you 10 miles of driving in the Mustang of your choice, though for an extra $75 you can pilot up to four of the Mustangs during the three-hour “Mustang Experience.” For anyone who has never driven one of these classic American icons, it is quite the experience indeed. The first available outing takes place on August 7, at the legendary Brand’s Hatch raceway.
