Video: Chris Holbrook’s Cobra Jet Pulls A Wicked Wheelstand

Arguably the fastest production car in the world, the 2013 Mustang Cobra Jet can pull off single-digit drag strip runs right from the factory. Of course, it isn’t a street legal car, but that doesn’t make it any less of a fan favorite. Watching these factory warriors rip wheelstands down the drag strip all night is an incredibly entertaining way to spend the evening, and the crowd always seems to appreciate getting the front wheels high off the ground.

Wheelstands aren’t easy to pull off, and they’re even more difficult to land. But professional drivers like Chris Holbrook make it look easy, as this video of an epic wheelstand taken from multiple angles demonstrates.

The 2013 Mustang Cobra Jet has seen tremendous success so far in the first-ever ADRL Supercar Showdown Series, dominating each event and culminating in a series title for driver Bo Butner this past weekend. But Butner didn’t have an easy time of it, as previous Extreme Pro Stock champion Chris Holbrook was one of the first drivers to sign up for the new series. And Holbrook definitely brought the ruckus.

Holbrook nabbed his own victory at the Northeast Drags earlier in the season, though this tire-crunching wheelie video comes from the Gateway Drags in Madison, Illinois, Holbrook launches hard, getting the nose of his Cobra Jet skyward right off of the line. He then comes down even harder, sparks flying and the Mustang bouncing like a child’s toy.

To this, Holbrook says “Wow.” Wow Indeed.
