Doing a burnout is something of a double-edged sword. We all know we’re not supposed to do it, but it’s only illegal if you get caught, right? Besides, we don’t see any harm in lighting up our tires in an empty parking lot with a buddy videotaping it. It’s almost a right of passage for many would-be wrench turners…though some people go too far and run the risk of ruining gatherings of gearheads in an attempt to show off to their rides.
This video that Mustang Evolution found shows just such jackassery in action. This reportedly took place at the annual Mustang Week in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and as the rubber burning offender spins out in the middle of an intersection, he very nearly misses nailing a minivan.
Mustang Week is an annual gathering of the pony car faithful, and the 2011 edition was as big a success as ever. There are many kinds of Mustang fans, old and young, men and women, and many of them gather in Myrtle Beach for this annual pilgrimage. Good and bad apples come together for a few days to celebrate the Mustang, and it is pretty amazing how well behaved tens of thousands of gearheads can be.
But there’s always that one guy who has to go too far with his shenanigans. With the video camera going, one idiot brings his Mustang into the middle of a busy intersection and starts shredding his tires even as innocent bystanders try to get around him. As if that isn’t bad enough, he decided to go for a full on donut, whipping his Mustang around and nearly creaming a minivan trying to get past the madness. We assume the minivan was full of nuns and children, of course.
Look guys, we are all for burnouts, in the right place at the right time. Just because someone has a video camera out, doesn’t mean you have to act like an idiot.
