Recently we brought you the story of the Craigslist Mustang golf cart. While not the first Mustang golf cart we’ve ever seen, it might be the ugliest…but it is still way better than your boring old run-of-the-mill golf carts. Your average golf cart can’t even go faster than 20 mph. It’s such a shame to see anything with a Mustang badge go so slow. Isn’t there a better way?
As it turns out, there is a better way, and we found the YouTube video to prove it. Behold, yet another Mustang-themed golf cart…only this one has the cajones to go up to 60 mph!
For a golf cart, this thing hauls ass. Seriously. Check the video out as Andy, the builder of this beast, flies by the camera at an astonishing rate. Not too shabby for an electric car, eh? We much prefer the contemporary Mustang look for a golf cart too, and Andy’s custom built “New Edge” Mustang design looks pretty clean, and downright proportional too. This is, quite literally, a Mini-Mustang, and it looks really, really good.
So how can this golf cart be so fast? Well Andy has eight batteries on board (most golf carts use just four) and he likely removed an electronic governor that contains even the fastest golf carts to just 45 mph. But the instant torque of the electric motors, and lightweight nature of this vehicle, combine to give in a whole lotta oomph. This Mustang can handle pretty well too, making a slick U-turn in the middle of the road. Stopping distance isn’t too shabby either.
